European students applying to UK
Do I need a visa?
Yes — even as an EU citizen, you’ll need a visa to study in the UK for more than 6 months.
What visa do I apply for?
You’ll need a Student Visa (not a tourist or visitor visa).
When can I apply?
As soon as you receive your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) from your UK university — typically a few months before your course starts.
What you’ll need:
CAS number (issued by your university)
Proof of sufficient funds (tuition + living costs)
Valid passport
English language proof (e.g. IELTS if not waived)
Visa fee + healthcare surcharge payment
Processing time: ~3 weeks from outside the UK

European students applying to US
Do I need a visa?
Yes — you’ll need an F-1/ J-1 Visa to study full-time at a US college or university.

Once accepted, your school will issue an I-20 form, which you’ll need to book your visa appointment.
